Most women who book a colour analysis with me have been circling the idea for months. They have saved a few posts, taken an online quiz that gave them an answer they did not quite believe, and wondered whether it is worth the money.
So before you book anything, here are the questions I get asked most, and where to find the honest answer to each one.
You sit in natural daylight, or by my mirror with calibrated light when the day does not give enough, and I drape real fabric against your skin, one colour next to another. You see the comparison yourself. Your season is not guessed by eye and I never ask you which colour you prefer, because preference and suitability are different things.
If you want the full walkthrough, step by step, I wrote it out here: What to expect during a session.
I use the Brazilian twelve season method, with a seven step protocol. Twelve seasons instead of four means the answer is specific enough to use when you are standing in a shop. Three of those seven steps were built for mixed heritage skin, which matters in a city as mixed as Perth.
The full explanation is here: How colour analysis works.
You can, and it will read your screen rather than your skin. Your monitor, your camera, the light in your room and the filter on the app all change the colour before it reaches you. That is why two online tests give you two different answers.
I go into the detail here: Why online colour tests do not work.
There are two sessions. The Colour Discovery Session is sixty minutes and comes with your mini colour fan to take shopping. The Signature Colour Analysis is ninety minutes, with the large fan, colour training and a capsule wardrobe. There is also a Colour Party for three or more.
Prices and what sits inside each one: Colour analysis cost.
That is the real question, and it is fair. The honest answer is that the fan is not the product. What changes is how you shop: you stop buying the almost right thing, and the pile of clothes you never wear stops growing.
I set out the case here, including where it does not help: Benefits of professional colour analysis.
At my home studio in Stirling, with easy parking. If you prefer, I come to you anywhere in Perth, with the drapes and my calibrated light ($80 travel fee within 30 km of Perth CBD). At home, your wardrobe is in the next room, which can be useful.
